Country Friends
On a crisp September afternoon each year in Rancho Santa Fe, the Country Friends partners with South Coast Plaza and presents “The Art of Fashion” Fashion Show. An annual fundraiser to benefit specially selected charities of San Diego County, the event is the largest outdoor fashion show on the West Coast. The day begins with a stroll through the exclusive boutiques set up inside the Inn at Rancho Santa Fe, followed by a delicious luncheon on the Croquet Lawn under a 60’ x 80’ canopy, constructed of three, smaller tents set up “trio style.” Following lunch, attendees wind their way down to Rancho Santa Fe Park, where they enter a breathtaking 90’ x 80’ mesh tent, evoking a feeling of being inside a giant butterfly net. With the stage set and guests settled, the show begins. Runway models are featured wearing fashions by such designers as Roberto Cavalli, Valentino, Gucci and Christian Dior among others. At the show’s conclusion, guests follow the path back to the Inn, where the luncheon tent had been transformed into an Après Affaire Wine Tasting.
